Excise office in Islamabad
The Excise & Taxation Department Islamabad handles vehicle registration, transfers, token tax and smart cards for the capital. Its main office is next to the HEC building on the service road in Sector H-9, and a new branch is now open in Sector I-9. Counters open at 8:30am, and office hours are 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

- Mobile service: it also runs mobile registration and inspection points in parks around the city on a published schedule.

Online services: pay token tax and verify a vehicle
- Punjab: calculate and pay token tax and other vehicle taxes on ePay Punjab, and check any Punjab-registered vehicle with online vehicle verification. Punjab issues e-registration cards and uses biometric verification for ownership transfers.
- Islamabad: pay token tax and registration fees in the PAK APP, which also shows your smart card status and registration details. The PAK ID app handles biometric verification for transfers and holds a digital vehicle smart card.
